Post Tropical Storm Arthur

It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad.
C. S. Lewis

We found this robin's nest in our grapevine the day after post tropical storm Arthur came through in July. They remained in the nest for twelve days and then were gone.

  1. Great photos, Laura! I always marvel at the survival rate of birds. They're so vulnerable!

  2. Wonderful photos, Laura. Reminds me of the time my daughter and I watched some birds hatch in the nest in the roof of the duplex we were renting, over ten years ago, I think...how time flies.

These photos go so beautifully with the C.S. Lewis quote, which is also wonderful. He left behind so many words of wisdom. Makes me want to open one of his books again...

It was great seeing your photo on my snow post. Thanks for stopping by, thus reminding me of a connection I feel with you. I remember how much I liked your book.

I see that you too have been on hiatus from your blog, which is indeed a celebration of life. So soothing...all the green...my daughter's favorite color.

Many blogging friends have asked how my daughter and I are doing. I need to get a new post written, answering this question. I hope maybe tomorrow....so many trials lately, with the aide who keeps getting herself injured...and just getting older in general. Trying to to take one day at a time, be upbeat and positive...

Hope you and yours are well. Would love to hear from you, if you should ever have time to write a brief note. annbest65 at gmail dot com. Take care... Ann
