Eagle Nest

“We are eagles of one nest - the nest is in our soul.”  Led Zeppelin

This nest is just outside Sobey's in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia at the top of a high pole. We saw one head moving about but couldn't get a good view. Not sure if eagles are occupying this nest or some other large bird.

  1. Keep watching! Hopefully one of these days you'll catch a photo of the occupant. I enjoy watching some of the 'eagle cams' online and seeing the comings and goings of the big birds (and sometimes their hatching eggs and subsequent babies). In BC there are places along some of our highways where birds have nested on abandoned telephone poles and other poles set up for the purpose. I've seen nests like these at Crawford Bay and near Nelson, and am told they're inhabited by Ospreys.

  2. I was going to ask if you have osprey in your area. That's a perfect example of their nest.

  3. @Carol, @ Patti...We actually figured it might be an osprey nest. While we don't have them in Dalhousie, this photo was taken overlooking the Lahave River which runs into the Atlantic. We saw a large bird fly overhead and knew it wasn't an eagle. Was hoping to see it land in the nest but it didn't.
