Fiction is like a spider's web, attached ever so slightly perhaps, but still attached to life at all four corners. Often the attachment is scarcely perceptible.~~Virginia Woolf

Violets
Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it. ~ Mark Twain
I found a few clumps of violets last week in the tree lot. Love the beautiful purple colour.

Apple Blossoms
Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul. ~~Henry Ward Beecher
The apple blossoms are not yet blooming in Dalhousie, but there were plenty of blossoms on the crab apple trees in Bridgewater today. Lots of bees buzzing around, too. The air was saturated with sweetness from the blossoms as the perfume wafted in the breeze.

Moonlight On Black Duck Lake
“How sweet the moonlight sleeps upon this bank. Here will we sit, and let the sounds of music Creep in our ears; soft stillness, and the night Become the touches of sweet harmony.” ~ Wiliam Shakespeare
Mesmerising, spellbinding--This was the view from my bedroom window last month during the full moon.

Rhododendron
Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature. ~ Gerard De Nerval
Seeing that my rhododendron is just beginning to bloom, I noticed a neighbour's bush in full bloom today. Ah well, I'm sure mine will live a longer life.

“We think too small, like the frog at the bottom of the well. He thinks the sky is only as big as the top of the well. If he surfaced, he would have an entirely different view.” ~Mao Tse-Tung
This little guy crossed my path a few days ago. I'm sure there are some eggs bobbing around the ponds and ditches by now.

Spruce Trees
I like trees because they seem more resigned to the way they have to live than other things do. ~Willa Cather, 1913
B tells me these are Norway Spruce. |
I love the cones on these. They make nice decorations on Christmas wreaths |
Can't say enough about these beautiful trees growing outside the South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater.

On the first day of May the daffodils are just beginning to bloom in Dalhousie.
